Korean universities require 12 years of schooling and Korean level TOPIK 3–4. A one-year Foundation or Language & Culture Year delivers academic subjects, intensive Korean or English, and guaranteed progression to undergraduate entry.

FAQ: studying in South Korea

Hundreds of bachelor’s and master’s degrees are fully in English, but daily life is easier with TOPIK 2–3. 

Public universities charge USD 3 500 – 7 000 per year; private branch campuses USD 8 000 – 12 000. Scholarships and GKS can cover up to 100 %.

The D-2 visa allows up to 20 hours per week during semesters after TOPIK 2 (or IELTS 5.5) plus unlimited hours in vacations.

Graduates can switch to a D-10 Job-Seeking Visa for 6–12 months, then to an E-7 Skilled Worker or points-based H-1 visa once employed.
